Multi-Language and Active Reports

Hi everybody!

Our team is planning to use Multi-Language Add-In for Visual Studio .NET and I am just testing it.

I was surprised when I saw ML does not recognize Active Reports and their controls, because it was a kind of routine in version Multi-Language for VB 6.0.

It does not show them in Control Tab, although Active Reports do have Localizable property.
(We are using Visual Studio 2008 and Data Dynamics Active Reports for .NET 3.0.)

I mean - I could force it getting translated by setting up all the .Text properties in source code, but - due to many reports - it would be a lot of 'handwork'.. :-)

Am I doing something wrong - does anyone here have experience with it?

Hi Damir,

Sorry that I did not reply sooner. I am on vacation at present and only have occasional access to the internet.

I added some speicial support to the VB6 Add-In for Active Reports. I don't think that I have ever tried to use Active Reports with Visual Studio .NET. I will try it out when I return home, after the 13th September.

By the way, I think that I have tried - and failed - to add support for Crystal Reports, but I will take another look at this as well.

Thanks for your reply Phil!

I realized that you were on vacation in one of your earlier posts - that's why I didn't check for your reply sooner… Hope you had nice holydays! :-)

I've been actually first testing ML for VS with Crystal Reports, but I gave up when I saw CRs don't have the Localizable property.

Off course, I could have used resource manager myself to 'manually' load resources from another language each time I need them, but I rather tried ML with Active Reports, knowing that it used to work in VB 6.0.

So, please – just post whatever you find out, even if you 'fail' using Active Reports too.
Then I'll at least know I’m gonna have to use 'setting up all the .Text properties in source code' approach.
