Adding new entries to the string table

In resource tab. sorting on name or ID column

I agree. The resources tab is relatively new and some features are still missing.smile

If a string is used in the source code, you can simply select it in the source code tab. This will indirectly add an entry to the STRINGTABLE.

Copy a selection of certain language column to another

This should be possible. There are two different ways.

In the context menu, there are commands "Copy to current text" and "Copy from current text", where current text really means the text in the original language.

This is a screw up in the terminology. Originally there were separate columns for the current text and the text in the original language, although they usually contained the same text. Eventually I decided that this made no sense and got rid of the column for the current text. I did not think about changing the text of these menu commands.

There is also an "Advanced Copy" command in the context menu and on the toolbar (to the right of the search buttons). This should offer most options, but may be a little over complicated.

I don't think it supports multiple selection in the grids, which might be a useful addition.

Just google/microsoft translate a selection

Click in a cell to edit a text and then hit F3. Alternatively hit F12 or select translation memory from the context menu. This opens a dialog in which the google and microsoft translators are available.

Select source language at google/microsoft translate

Almost all projects have a single original language. This will normally be the source language for translation.

The only exception that I can think of is if the original language is not supported by the translation engines, for example Bengali. In that case you might add English as s second language and then translate from English to other languages.

However, you can change the original language via the context menu, which would be a good workaround.

Maybe you could explain why you think this would be useful.
