Spam in the forum - Deleted users - Captcha
Recently, I have had a lot of problems with spam messages in the forum, with links to sites which are probably offensive.
Although you must get past a captcha to register for the forum, bots have clearly managed to break the security.
I have now made the captcha longer and noisier, which should make it more difficult for bots. Unfortunately, it makes it more difficult for people too.
At present, new users must wait for approval. Recently, this has been something like 50 requests per day. If the harder captcha stops this flood, I may allow users to register immediately without approval, as previously.
I have deleted lots of users.
Almost certainly, I have deleted some bona fide users. I am sorry if I have deleted your account by mistake.
